Completing your Unfinished Business is a Major Step in Your Personal Development

Personal development is continuous and never ending process. You must look at the good, the bad, and the ugly part of your personality.  The bad part might be how you deal with issues in your life.  The vast majority of people put off things to be done the next day.  Unfinished business in your life, health, relationship and business may lead you to become very overwhelmed. The thing to do is to resolve these issues as soon as time permits. The main reason people don’t tackle unfinished business is because of fear.  Unfinished business is all the things in your life that you have not dealt with for whatever reason.  If left unchecked a downward spiral occurs until life is totally out of control.  This may take an extraordinary amount of energy to maintain.   Opportunity knocks on the front door but you are on the floor wrestling with the heavy burden of unfinished business. You must figure out a way to deal with it.

There are three ways to handle this:

1. You can play the denial game

If I don’t acknowledge it, then it does not exist.  Your expenses are spirally out of control every month and you just stack the bills in a neat pile on your desk.  You feel like if you do not open the bill then your debt is not real.  Denial only leads to a huge check that you definitely will be unable to cash.

2. You can go into limbo

You are treading water neither going forward nor falling back just staying in limbo.  You are stuck in a neutral position that will not help you resolve your unfinished business issues.  Procrastination is a killer of productivity and efficiency.

3.  You can confront the issue head on.

There is risk in this action while the other two requires none so most people choose the latter.  You must step into your fear otherwise the repercussions will be severe.  Fear holds us back and sometimes strips us of our confidence.  You must take care of your unfinished business head on or live with the consequences.  The ringing of the telephone brings you so much dread because you think it is the creditor on the other end.  Answer the phone you might be surprised what you may be able to work out.  The solutions are so simple that it amazes us, especially when we make a mountain out of a mole hill.  Your energy will come back to you miraculously and all things that you put off will no longer fester inside of you.

You will be closer to your personal development goals, when your mind is free and clear on a continuous basis of  your unfinished business.  You have three choices on how to deal with unfinished business so choose wisely.  Electrical current takes the path of least resistance but that does not mean it is the best path for you.

Napoleon Hill in the book “Think and Grow Rich” writes that autosuggestion is the third step to riches. Autosuggestion is all self administered stimuli that you receive through your five senses. They are very simple ways that you can develop this skill to help you in your personal development.  The following steps are very easy to implement, but its takes discipline to do it on a daily basis.

You must see yourself as already achieving your goals.  Visualization is a key to autosuggestion. The more you visualize your goal as if you accomplished it already, the better chance you have to achieve it.  The first thing is find a quiet and relaxing background with minimal distractions.  It is great to do this before you go to bed and when you wake up in the morning.  Turn off the cell phone, computer and any other distractions that could interrupt you.  You must have a written statement of your goal, time frame you want to achieve it, and what you will give up to accomplished it.  Repeat this statement aloud so that it goes from your conscious mind to your subconscious mind.  Repetition is the motherhood of learning so repeat this statement everyday until it is accomplished.  Keep your statement in different locations that you can see it morning and night.  Once it had been memorized, then you will be able to truly internalize it.

These instructions may seem simplistic in nature, but if you follow these instructions your skepticism will be replaced by belief.  When you invest in your personal development the greater your wealth will grow.  Your thoughts determine your destiny and learning and acquiring different knowledge will help your personal development.  When you have the power to influence your subconscious mind then you will gain control of yourself and your environment.

These companies seem to be selling a “lazy” way to increase your wealth.  You can grow your home business by using some simple strategies.  You might have a great website, capture page, blog etc. but if you don’t have a call to action.  You must ask your potential business partner to do business with you.  You may ask your potential business partners for their business using seven different methods.

The best way to find out information is to ask questions, and then listen attentively to the answers.  You must not anticipate what you think the person is going to say and answer as soon as possible.  Listening is a dying art that we must all revive.  The main objective here is to focus on helping the person that you are meeting with and not have dollars signs in your eyes.  The type of questions you asked should begin with who, why, what, where, when and how to acquire the information you need.

Referrals are automatic testimonial that state that a “friend” have looked at your product or service and they felt that you were worthy enough to give you another “friend” name.  They will look at your product or service more readily, than if you had cold call them.

5. Ask for more business.

6. Ask to renegotiate.

When you think you are getting the best deal, you come to realize that it can be better.  For example if you think are paying the best rate on your car insurance for many years does not mean you can’t pick up the phone and ask for a better rate.

7. Ask for feedback.

This is probably the scariest one of them all because people fear criticism.  When you ask for feedback you are trying to find out how you can improve your company.  You may be surprise how many new ideas could come from your clients.
