I am discovering these nuggets as I read this book. I am not surprised that I don’t know what I don’t know. “The person who won’t read is no better off than the person who can’t read.” What is the last book that you have read? If you are scratching your head with a puzzled look, then this article is about you. The power to be able read is available to most people. The problem is that most people stop reading for recreational. It is normal to read for a book report when you are in high school. It just seems that once high school is finished most people stop reading. The only book they read is a magazine or the newspaper.

It is as if once that last book report is done, a switch goes off. If you ever want to keep something a secret put it in a book. I know that that is very harsh statement, but it very true. It just seems like only a few people find and implement the secrets of success. The average person never find out the secret or have no desire to look. The saying is “seek and ye shall find”. The secret to success is written in all the greatest books of the World. You only have to open the book and apply the knowledge gain. Knowledge is the key is a famous saying from the old days. It should actually read that the application of knowledge is the key. The ”person who knows but won’t use success principles and information is no better than the person who doesn’t know them.”

The gold nuggets from the classic “see You at The Top” by Zig Ziglar are never ending and plentiful. The gold nuggets that I am going to discuss today is “the price of success is much lower than the price of failure”. This quote is a reminder of a blog post I wrote a few years back. Read my blog post it dealt with the pain of failure or the pain of regret. Zig Ziglar say the same thing in a different way. It all stem from the mindset of the person in charge of his or her destiny. I don’t remember where I heard it but I remember a story of a wise man who was given a choice by an evil man.

The evil man had a bird in his hands that was hidden. The wise man could not tell if the bird was alive or dead. He asked the wise man if the bird was alive or dead. The wise man knew that if he stated that the bird was alive. The evil man would have broken the bird’s neck. He also knew that if he said the bird was dead, then the evil man would have open his head and let the bird fly away. The wise man thought about for a few and told the evil man the fate of the bird is up to you.

Zig concluded the meaning of this parable in a similar fashion ”in your hands you hold the seeds of failure or the potential for greatness”. The decision to be a failure or success is up to you and you alone. If you point your finger at the person you feel is responsible for your failure. It is only natural that 3 fingers point squarely at yourself. Zig Ziglar’ statement is powerful in it own right even though it is simple stated. The price of success does cost less than the price of failure. When you fail you tend to live that failure over and over again. It is if a 2000 pound elephant is weighing you down in a kiddie pool that is your life.

The More You Read The More Successful You Will Become

I was listening to a video series by Kevin Trudeau(KT) entitled “Your Wish is Your Command”. It is very interesting audio series that makes you think about what it truly takes to be successful. He made a very interesting statement that said “Leaders are always readers”. He also gave a list of books that he believe that should be part of every serious minded entrepreneur. Leaders are always working on their mind on a regular basis. When your mind is right the “facts don’t matter”.

It is critical that you work on your thinking and motivation. It is not that you read a book once, it that you read that book many times. I have read “Think and Grow Rich” a few times now and I get different golden nuggets each time. The words on the book was not change by some “Kindle” glitch. The book did not change in the passage of time, it was I that changed.

It is amazing that you will get exactly what you need from any book that you read at the perfect time. KT uses the analogy of your favorite compact disk(CD) to illustrate the point. You were listening to this CD and by some miracle you heard a cut that you never heard before. The CD was not change, it was you that changed. The most successful not only read books, but they read the same books multiple times.

The most successful people are always reading books that improve their minds. You will not see the most successful people watching the latest reality show twenty four hours per day. It is one thing to watch television for a couple of hours per day, but never overdo it. If you are watching television all day long how can you clearly define your dreams. When you start watching a show, it is amazing how fast an hour goes by. The passage of time is so quick that making definite goals are out the window.

The key to success as defined by Napoleon Hill is clearly defined dreams and a burning desire. When you read books that help you make your dreams more targeted is the best way to spend your time. The time you spend as a coach potato is not going to help you achieve success. The key is focus on your goals with a burning desire for success and you will be successful.

Napoleon Hill’s Law of Success Lesson #6: Enthusiasm is a vital moving force that impels action. Napoleon Hill states that the greatest leaders are those who inspire enthusiasm in their followers. It is one thing for the followers to be pumped up it is even better when they have a definite chief aim. When the followers has a laser sharp enthusiastic belief system, then everything will explode. Enthusiasm is very contagious. The acronym for the last four letter is I.A.S.M is I am sold myself.

When you are sold about your life, business or relationships you feel no pain, require no sleep and barely require nutrients. When you are enthuse it like you are walking on a cloud way above the trees. Your feet never touches the ground. I know it sound mythical and almost unbelievable, but when you are sold on what you are doing it is so much easier to jump out of bed every morning. If you don’t believe that then you might appreciate this fact most heart attacks occur early Monday morning.

The most popular time for heart attacks is within the last three hours of getting up to go to work. The heart stopped beating, because most people dreaded going into their job on Monday morning. Monday is the deadliest day of the week for a myocardial infraction. The weekend was fantastic, but the prospect of having to go into work is overwhelming. The flip side is Fridays, people are looking forward to the weekend. The enthusiasm and the buzz about what you are going to do on the weekend is out of this world. It is truly unnecessary to motivate anyone to race through the door. It is so much easier to get work done to complete the day. The least productive, but most enthusiastic is the last hour before quitting time.

We feel no pain just before going home for the weekend. When we feel enthusiasm, we accomplish more. When I initially worked in the restaurant business I was gung ho and could not wait to get to work. I was like that for many years until I realized a key important fact. I could work from can to faint and no matter what the restaurant would continue, even if I left all of a sudden. When I viewed time with my sons more it was easier to work a plan. I never knew what it was to have a weekend off, without planning for months ahead of time. When you are enthusiastic about your goals and dreams it is much easier to accomplish them. Napoleon Hill ‘s “Laws of Success” are razor targeted on what you need to get where you ant to go. You have to be selfish with your goals otherwise you will never achieve them.

Motor Club of America(MCA) took only one phone call. I witnessed actual benefit in motion, even though my car did not want to move. It finally moved with the assistance of MCA. My sons were driving my car and stopped by a friend. The car did not want to start when they were about to leave. You would think that I should have been distressed, but I was not.
