Ask Effectively to Win in Your Home Based Business

You are running a home based business that is direct sales marketing vehicle. The presentation aspect of your product or service is great. The problem that you are having occurs at the end of the presentation. At the end of the presentation like 60% of the salespeople fails to ask for the sale. You might have we call “lay down” occasionally in your home based business.  The majority of your sales are going to come from asking for the sale.  There are a number of ways to effectively ask your potential business partners to ensure that your asking gets results.

Effective ways to get the best results when you ask for the “sale”:

1. Ask clearly.

Your choice of words is critical because words are very extremely powerful. Your request must be well thought out and coherent. If you are saying thing but you body language is saying something else then the message will be twisted. Your mastermind group would be a great resource if you have someone who is great at asking.

2. Ask with confidence.

You don’t have to speak loudly to project confidence. Confidence comes from being prepared and knowing your product or service well. The quiet strength of your confidence is clear to your potential business partners. The confident person tends to be better off then people who are hesitant and uncertain.

3. Ask consistently.

You have to ask at least three times just worded a different way. My sons ask me again and again when they want something. Kids are probably the best salesperson in the world.  A successful person will ask consistently and will not shy away from the first no.

4. Ask creatively.

You must let your creativity work in your favor to get great results in your asking.  Out of the box thinking is sometimes required to show your product or service to your hard to reach potential business partners. The internet is great for growing your home based business online, but they are still many offline ways to generate leads.

5. Ask sincerely.

The best way to show sincerity is to just be you. When you are being truthful, then your potential business partner will feel it and respond to you in kind. For instance, your video marketing does not have to perfect in your home based business opportunity. Your business partners will open up to you when they know that you are a “real” person.

They are many people who have changed the world simply by asking. Winston Churchill asked the people of the United Kingdom to “never, never, never, never give up” and Great Britain was saved from invasion. Your head down with your hat in your hand is not the proper way to ask.  When you are in a business that truly helps people, then there is no reason for you to hang your head low.  You must boldly ask for what you want. You must ask using the ways that we discussed to achieve success in your home based business.

Personal Development and Master Mind Group Goes Hand in Hand

A mastermind group is a very valuable commodity in your personal development. The people you select could either help or hinder your progress. The goal is to select a group of individuals that produces the right synergy. Your Mastermind Group should be limited to six people; five plus yourself. Your group may become known as the power of 6 if the proper combination of personalities is selected.

The first person selected is the most important because that person will help you acquire the other four. You want to select someone who is successful in his or her field of endeavors. You are seeking people who are ambitious, goal oriented and open-minded. You are looking for positive minded people and not negative people who will bring down the atmosphere of the meeting. A whole bunch of whiners will make your meeting a forum for people complaining about life. The point of the master group is to support and advise each other not to have a monthly pity party. Your candidates must have real life experiences or have overcome difficult obstacles in his or her life. You want to select people from different industry that complement each other in a specific way. You might not want to choose 5 people in the same exact industry as yourself.

Variety is the spice of life so you want to make sure that diversity is well represented within your group. You don’t want your mastermind group to suffer from group think. Different backgrounds and knowledge will allow you to get different perspectives for any issues being discussed. If group think occurs, then an environment of helping each other toward success in your individual businesses will cease to exist. The make up of the group whether all men, all women or a combination of the two is critical also.

The success of your mastermind group for your personal development is based entirely on your selection of the individuals for your group. The productivity of your “power of 6” will help transform your development to the next level. This relationship can only be win-win as long as your have the correct complement of people in your group. The choice is yours so choose wisely.

Mastering Details is a Major Part of Business Success

Mastery of Detail is an excellent leadership attribute to have in developing a successful business. There are 5 fundamental principles that are essential to mastering the nuances of the detail. We must become skilled practitioners of the system that we use in our everyday business to get to the next level and beyond. I will use going through the process of focusing on your core business clients as a way to demonstrate the processes of becoming a true mastery of details.

They are 5 guiding principles in mastering the details in your business as listed below:

1. Initial Impact

You normally have a core segment of our clients that like clockwork always orders our products or use your service on a consistent basis. We sometimes take these clients for granted and instead focus on “new” business. We have these clients in our hip pocket so we “ignore” them.  When we ignore people sometimes our competitor come along and listens to this segment and you lose them as clients. If you had a system in place to counteract this minor detail, then loss of revenue would not have occurred.

We tend to spend our time on “new” business who tends to be people that are expensive to acquire whether they are asking numerous insignificant questions or taking up your time. They either order little or no business which makes acquiring new business a very risky investment. What kind of impact could we have if we changed our focus and invested in ways to pay attention to our core business?

2. Repetition

The key to running a marathon is the first step, so we must develop ways to keep our core clients happy.  Once we institute these methods we must make a conscious effort to use them on a regular basis. You should continue to chase new business, but you should only indulge in win-win relationship.  Repetition is the motherhood of learning so the more you repeat this practice the better chance it will become a standard practice in your business. When everyone in your organization is focuses on the simple detail of not ignoring your special clients.

3. Utilization

If you don’t use new ideas or concepts, then they will just die on the vine.  The old adage of use or lose is truly adaptable here.  The benefits of focusing on your core business will lead to referrals and increased revenues.  The main work is in the execution of the details but the benefits are unlimited.

4. Integration

We must repeat this process again and again and again until it is embedded in your business’s system.  When focusing actively on a certain detail, then it is integrating into the normal day to day operation of your business.  Once true integration occurs then we just have to follow up to make sure that integration is here to stay.

5. Reinforcement

The benefits of mastering this detail are in the follow up.  When you master one detail you must always make sure that your people continue to focus on this detail on a daily basis.  We inspect what we expect so if we don’t continually apply attention, energy and focus to reinforce this detail then it will just become ineffective

I use this example of tapping into an ignore resources in our business to show that to truly master detail is a commitment that you must make on a conscious level.  If you are able to identify the different areas of your business with this same focus there is no doubt that you will be successful in your business.  You must give attention, energy and focus to all the little details in your life and business to make the necessary changes.  Successful leader will use these 5 fundamental principles to become a true mastery of detail to take his or her business to the next level.
